Utopia Society

It is an interesting mix between Chinese Political Science studies and European History. Basically, those two are well connected by the student demonstration in 1989. When there was a multiple choice question on the quiz someday, asking reasons of outbreak of the demonstration. I chose the answer of thoughts flowing from foreign country, what I meant was a) French Revolution, b) Revolution of 1848. There were large numbers of demonstrations in the history of Europe. They asked for civil rights, universal suffrage, popularity sovereign, and democracies. Although they experienced darkness, but finally welcomed the new society. Students in 1989 were confused of failure of the demonstrations. What they had expected did not exist at all. In radical area after French Revolution, Robespierre produced Terror, as well as the fire to demonstration of workers and students. Napoleon re-build the empire and made own rules as laws, which finally affect the whole Europe. They were absolutist dictatorship, but finally the people overcame the problems. Robespierre was killed and Napoleon was exiled. No need of faction fights, strong militaries, or nationalism, they were destroyed by the environment. John Mill came up with on Liberty and contributed to liberalism. The revolution of 1848 requested liberalism. There were many unions fighting for their rights, women rose up for equal rights, and race problem existed. People realized they need democracies, and they believed the power of society belonged to themselves. So did students in China. They believed the party would change if they got mass incidents and impressed the politico. They were too young too naive to believe the CPC and really treated it as their parents. So sometimes the nationalism and patriotism are unnecessary, which may save the life. I am out of time since too much readings for PSC class... But I worried more about the Road Test. See, finally the power of finance is bigger than that of knowledge. I wrote this only because I was depressed of the snow here and the article I saw accidentally. Since too much review for History, I miss read the name in a blog which talked about the fashion person Rick Owens. I was interested in exploring new opinions since I thought the name was Robert Owens, the man I really respected and being curious, because he built the real Utopia that even Plato could only idealize. Although the life is so stressful, I still believed that I will become a primer and contribute the society I love. I want to change the environment, make new insurance system, and improve the quality of life for the poor. Sounds so modeled in the traditional textbook, but it is with me for nearly ten years. And maybe another ten years later, it come true. Fin.
